UIC student, Tayo Omoniyi, shares her experience with MD
Her Campus is an online magazine created by, and catering to, college aged women. Recently in the sites mental health section a short personal piece on Maladaptive Daydreaming was published. Here is an excerpt from the article:
In my daydreams, I had set up my own universe, filled with my own characters, settings, and plots. I could write a dozen novels from the recesses of my old daydreams. Some of my daydreams were also inspired by my real life. However, the daydreams caused a lot of distraction and kept me from really interacting with the world around me. I found myself detaching when I was in lecture, in conversation with someone else, and difficulty concentrating even on everyday tasks.https://www.hercampus.com/school/uic/maladaptive-daydreaming-my-experience/
