Long-Form Documentary Needs MDers

Call for participation; filmmaker researching MD for documentary.

Filmmaker, Thomas Renckens, is back, calling on the community for aid in the production of a feature length documentary on MD. Over the past few years he has posted similar calls for participation to interview MDers for a short-form film and a book. You can watch the trailer for the short film HERE. The following is his call for participants in researching his latest project:

My name is Thomas Renckens and I’m a Dutch documentary filmmaker based in Amsterdam. In 2020 I made a short documentary film about MD – my graduation film from the National Film and Television School called “The Daydreamers“.

Since then I’ve been working hard to secure funding to make a long documentary about MD, and I was recently given development money from the Dutch public broadcaster for the project.
As part of my research I would like to speak to individuals about their experience with MD through Zoom/Skype. Initially it would be for my own research but I might be interested in filmmaking with you for the documentary in the future. I’m particularly keen to speak to individuals based in Europe, but those in other parts of the world are welcome to get in touch as well. No requirements to speak English fluently.
If you’re open to speaking with me please send an email to: thedaydreamersfilm@gmail.com

If you email me can you please make sure to include the following information:

  • name
  • age
  • location
  • brief description of your daydreaming experience, e.g. what do you daydream about, what triggers your daydreams, how much has MD impacted your life, etc. (feel free to share however much you feel comfortable with).

I look forward to hearing from you.
Best, Thomas.
